Allegro Music History

• 1979 - Founding partners, Chris Boys and Ian Quilter, started a
             servicing business repairing electronic organs for many
             Essex based shops and private customers.
• 1980 - First shop opened in Magdalen Street, Colchester.
• 1981 - Moved to larger premises in St. John’s Street, Colchester.
• 1984 - Opened our second store in Springfield Road, Chelmsford.
• 1993 - Opened our third store in London Road, Westcliff-on-Sea.
• 2000 - Moved the store in Chelmsford to it’s current High Street
           position with three sales floors.
• 2002 - Extended and completely refitted the Westcliff store,
           doubling the sales area, adding a demo room facility &
           expanding the TMA Teaching Academy.
• 2003 - Extended the “Rock Shop” department at the Chelmsford
           store, doubling the area and vastly increasing the range of
           Guitars, Amps, P.A. & Home recording eqipment.

 Service Department

• Partner, Ian Quilter, heads up the In-house service department guaranteeing that any repairs to electronic equipment are carried out promptly & professionally.
• Other instruments such as Upright Pianos, Guitars, Brass & Woodwind are serviced by qualified local technicians.
